Anyone Here Ever Sold A Car On Ebay? Questions...

I want to try to sell my car on Ebay but I have concerns on receiving payment. I have read several articles lately about fake certified checks and even postal money orders. Here is one example: http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/mofeatur.htm

So my plan is to stipulate in the auction that the buyer can pay by money order, certified check or even a personnal check. But I will also indicate that no matter what the payment type, I will wait for the check or money order to clear before making the sale final. Is that unreasonable? I'm afraid it may turn away legit bidders. Is there another way I be safe about payment? Paypal only allows payments up to $2,000. Any idea's?

You can always put Local only and you won't ship.

That way they can pay you when they come pick up the car.

i accepted only, or what you could do is send invoices totaling $2000 each until the sale price is fulfilled. i sold my bemer on ebay and there was absolutely no problems...BUT BEWARE...don't bother being nice or even remotely close to curteous with anyone wanting to buy your car from another country...tell them to shove it. also i wouldnt sell to anyne with 0 or negative feedback. goodluck!
