Def make them yourself. They are actually very easy to make. And cheap if you have a sander and jig saw or know someone who does. It will cost you a peice of MDF, around $9 and some time. The BB route is a good one if you don't have the tools.

Isn't there a way to convert the factory speakers into a bracket so that the speaker clears the window?

The spacer attaches to the doors sheet metal. You don't have to be perfect with the circles as they will be covered up. If you use 3/4" MDF you will need to trim the plastic on the actual door panel. Also very easy if you have a Dremmel or equivilent. I have a ton of pics I can email you of my install. The speakers suround will come into contact with the plastic if you don't trim it. PM me if you want the pics.

Good reason for the thread jack. You will be able to hear a few of these if you can make it. It would be great to have you there!

i sent you both a PM fil and kpr...but on a side note i made my spacers earlier, they came out good, i surpised myself...was a peice of cake....even the circles lol.... but just waitin on some pictures to get some trimming ideas, even tho i only had too use a 1/2 spacer, the panel around the speaker is a bit bulky...still snaps but a tad bulky.... also the centra florida meet, im going too try and make it....... i should be able too, we will see......
