Removed Vinyl From Pillar

just used a razor blade, it took sometime, i had to be very careful not to cut into the flawless paint underneath. after all the vinyl was removed i used paint thinner to remove all the glue that was on the paint and thats it, next i put some wax on it and wow does it look good the paint under there was covered for 9 year and wow i have to say it looks wonderful

I was amazed when I did it on mine. It's a nice subtle touch, lots of people dont ever notice, but it makes a difference to me. Much better than the faded black crap that was there after 8 years.

looks real clean, i have a question though, everyone seems to have the vinyl covers over the B pillar but mine seems to be metal. Is this because of the model year?

I've heard before that some or all of the black ones dont have this vinyl, a friend of mine has had 2 black max's and one had the vinyl and the other didnt. Someone may have already removed it, but we're not sure. But it looks good on any color maxima with this done. Easy to do, and most of all it's free so I recomend it to everyone, just be careful not to scratch the paint underneath.

Ooohh...interesting! Do you have any pics from a little farther away? I'd like to see what it looks like in relation to the rest of the car. Does the paint that was underneath match up with the rest of the car? I'm just wondering if it would be a little brighter because its never been faded by the sun...

It will be shiny brand new paint underneath, versus the black vinyl which is faded or starting to fade out on the older 4th gens now. So yes it will make a difference.

Im not a fan of this mod. I think it makes things look more busy than they really are, and I just prefer the black especially with tinted windows...looks more smooth IMO.

Wow, that's definitely noticeable for me since I'm used to seeing my white Max with the black pillars. Looks good, very clean.

I dont car too much for the small rear door pillar being painted. Also I agree with kingrukus, with tinted windows it looks better with the Black...all kind of flows together well.

I agree with former accord man, I would have left the b piller alone. Other than that everything else looks good.

On many Black and Dark color cars there is NO vinyl on the pillars. so if it looks like paint, it is.

and

I like the real carbon fiber on mine
