JUST POSTED PICS AND DYNO. ALSO TAKING .02's..

Here are some pics, just got my scanner so more pics to come of the newer mods. So these are the first pics I have. The Dyno is done with only the CAI and the UDP and the Toyo Proxes TPT. I am waiting for my SAFC and rims to arrive before I dyno the newer stuff. I will post the results. What do you think?

Do all 5.5gens dyno like that? Why does it keep dropping and then go back up?

I like my GT-R. Ricey maybe a bit but that red looks good I think.

The bogs you see in the dyno are spots where the factory AF is screwy or " not optimized". I have a computer en route to adjust the mix to get it even. Should have it by Friday and in by Tues. Hopefully tuned on Tues.

let the man rock what he wants...i agree it is ricey but its his car and his preferences are different from ours. His ricey car will ish on both of ours anyway

I didnt know the drop was so significant at that 5k rpm area. Still seems a little irregular even for the slight difference in a/f

That dip almost looks like there may be something wrong with your variable intake. I know 2k2/3 dynos are supposed to look a little bumpy because the VQ35 wasn't very refined at that point...but that dyno chart is just horrendously weird.

The wideband looks to say that it is running a bit rich at that rpm. I am hoping the SAFC will even that AF out. Also I don't know if it means anything to that but my timing was also set at 14 dgr. when that dyno was done.

Also it seems kinda low for a 3.5 with a 6 spd. That would be more in line to how an AT would dyno.

Thats how it was when I bought it. I am really glad I harassed them enough to do it. I am thinking that and the fact that the factory A/F map is shall we say less than optimal I should get a difference when I get that SAFC tuned in.

I have seen multiple 5.5 gens with a factory 14 degree tuning. Extra retarded!

How much HP and torque from the GT-R? Did you get it from a new skyline r38?

Is it faster than the 02-04 Mustang GT-R?

Well I haven't really heard of too many people getting more gains from another intake. I thought about trying another intake but I do like the looks of the Injen and I am happy with the sound.

You will definitely like the gains from the S-AFCII. It also helped with my SES light.

I don't think he has headers like you do, so how much is there to gain from further AFR tuning? Just curious, and nothing against ya MadMaxNH, I'm asking because I haven't really seen many "lightly" modded Max's with AFCs so I wonder how much you'll really be able to get out of some tuning if ya don't have headers. Of course, if you're getting headers down the road, its a good idea to have the AFC anyways.

Well headers are definitely in the plans. I ordered the B pipe witht the o2 ports welded in from Brian. But the reason I bought the SAFC is after I ran my dyno looking at the AF mix. I have a couple of weird spots where it is uneven some spots too rich and some too lean. I am going to even that out. There is a dyno shop here that will piddle with that thing to dial it in. The computer just came in the mail yesterday. Size wise after seeing it I don't think I can cram it into the sunglass holder like I wanted to. I don't know it is either the glove box or center console box. More likely the glove.

Download the dyno run veiwer,.. then upload them to cardomain and post your a/f ratio ... GAB = 9whp proven by both the auto and 6M ... check the dyno forums $.05

Because most other intakes seem to contribute in one way or another to this epedemic

weird, seems like someone would have by now seeing as every single other intake setup, including stock airbox, has seemed to result in a faulty MAF sensor..

Those instructions were put together by Fezzik, not me.

I haven't done it on my car yet, since I already have a Berk intake, but I might look into it this summer for the heck of it (and for the 9 hp).

i did the same thing for the summer. i love the low end feel and get almost no hesitation. i ported mine with two 2" holes then sawed the lid off as well. threw in a k&n panel filter and have not looked back.

Thanks for the feedback, Sloppy... I guess I got the idea from you cuz I think ya posted a while back about using the GAB in the summer and a short ram in the winter.... or maybe it was just my imagination. Anyways, I'm probably just gonna do it the way Dave (Fezzik) did his and not cut it, but just prop it open... should be good.
