Weird Idling Issue/Condition...
Yesterday the "Service Engine Soon" light came on, along with the following symptoms (note: I "Seafoamed" nearly 3k miles ago before going Mobil-1 Full-Synthetic, and haven't had any issues whatsoever since I've owned the car note):
1) Engine felt like it was laboring significantly.
2) Rough Idle - engine felt like it was going to die while idling, but never did.
Then the symptoms vanished as though it never happened, but I'm concerned that this may be a problem that has come up and that has a simple solution. The dealership I purchased this car from gave me an extended warranty, but they require a $100 deductible just to look at it, and of course, if the issue isn't covered by the warranty, I've got to pay the dealer's price for the repairs. I'm pretty new to the 5th Gen board, as I was a 3rd Gen guy up until a few months ago, so I'm still feeling my way around this car, and I haven't had the time to devote to catching up on the board-speak and getting myself up to speed with what's what on this car.
I'm hoping that you guys can steer me in the right direction as far as how I can diagnose these issues when they come up (i.e.; "throwing codes" is a term I've heard around this board) and decipher the issues before they become serious problems. If there's any equipment I need to look into getting, please let me know, as I'm planning on being a Maxima owner for years to come, and am eager to share my experiences with the Maxima community as they come up.
As always, thanks for your assistance, guys!
