The famus P0507 code! UPDATED!!!

Did anybody come up with a solution to this problem or do I have to do what my dealer says and spend $1000 to fix it? BTW, I tried all of the learning procedures for the engine already and nothing works. Also did a search- nothing

What parts exactly did the dealer quote you for $1K?

You can find a USED throttle body for $150 or so on car-part.com and redo all the learning procedures.

They weren't parts, it was a part!!!! He told me that the return spring in the throttle body is damaged and he will need to replace the whole thing.

That's a rip off~!!! Call DAVEB for a new one or IMHO it would be best to get a used on car-part.com.

They have several one for $150 and one for $175 that's real nice sounding.

Then I'd open up the broken one and see WTH happened inside.

I got that P0507 code once bfore after I cleaned my throttle body. But what I did to get rid of the SES light was putting back the stock airbox and it took about 4-6 weeks and he SES blinked off.

So I finally bought a throttle body for $150. It was off a '04 Maxima with 4000 miles on it. Put it in, did all of the learning stuff and it works fine. I took apart the old one and can't find anything wrong with it. There is just bunch of gears inside and no sensors of any kind.

idle reset to 667rpm . and car runs beutiful.

i went to Star Nissan in Flushing NY
THe service rep is really cool guy. he didnt charge me anything ... just came outside with his Consult tool and did it in 10 minutes. He also did my Timing Advance months earlier.

goldmaxNYC,
i'm going to Star Nissan to see Hogan tomorrow at around 4 o'clock, hopefully he would be able to help me to get rid of the P0507 problem, and bump up the base timing to 17 degrees.
Thank you very much for the reference.
