5.5 Gen Headlamp lense cleaning

So I need some help, I washed my poor maxima for the first time in more time than i will disclose, i then proceded to claybar the entire thing, because the paint felt like sandpaper, claybar worked wonders, and a second coat of polish is curing on the surface presently. my problem is, all the exterior lacks to look perfect again is to clean the plastic headlamp lenses, I have read that glass cleaner is a NO NO, and i need badly to remove the hazy look they have, its not that noticable, except to me, so it is an issue.. Your help is greatly apprieciated. Thanks.

Bear in mind, you are only polishing the outside of the lens. The "haze" is also on the inside of the lens and there isn't much you can do short of opening up the lens.

Actually, the Hazy look is on the outside in this instance, You can feel it on the surface of the lense, now all i gotta do is run to the store and grab some stuff to clean it, thanks guys

If that's the case, then Plast-X, Novus, or Renovo are the way to go.

Does it require excessive application or rubbing in?

I used Meguiar's PlastX on 3 cars this weekend. First my 2K3 Maxima SE (Pride and Joy), my 97 Altima and 97 civic (not mine...I promise) and what a difference. I should have taken somepics of the cleaned versus untreated headlight. That PlastX stuff really works.

Hey try toothpaste. I know it sounds crazy but I work with some old dude and this Ford Ranger he bought had hazy headlamps. He put some toothpaste on there and scrubbed it a little and bam, they looked like new again. Im not joking either.

yeah toothpaste would work in some cases. some toothpast like colgate are slightly abrasive (rub it between your fingers) so they work just like plastx.
