What year ecu can I use for a 1995 GXE

I have a 1995 gxe 5 speed. I want to get a computer out of a se so I have no limiter. What other years can I use? I wasn't sure if I could use other years because some have digital miles. Please let me know.

98+ have digital OD's, stick with your same year, but get an SE ECU .. or do the limiter removal mod..

Also, you shouldn't be driving that fast anyway, only reason I support the idea is for dynoing purposes only

95 ECU's are better than any other 4th gen ones.

What is the reason for you saying that? If its true great as I have a 95SE, 5-speed, LSD variety.

He probably means because they can be upgraded ('96 works too though)

95s have the least amount of emissions stuff of all the 4th gens.

I guess you could switch it out for an SE, 5speed, with the same emissions spec (Fed or cali, check FAQs if you don't know). Ideally it would be better to get a JWT ECU since they take off the speed limiter and do so much more but will also cost a lot more and you will be waiting for them for a while. I am not sure if TS removes it.

Aside from the answers made by the last two guys, the SE and GLE models don't have the limiter. They can benefit more from MEVI or 00VI as they can go faster at the top end. The driver becomes the limiter providing he knows when to back off the throttle w/o blowing up the engine.

Sounds like you're talking about the rev limiter, which SE and GLE DO have. This thread is about speed limiter's which they don't have.
