2 year report- chopped Eibachs
2 years ago, I had one coil chopped off of my front Eibach springs. Here is my original thread:

After driving on them for one year, there have still been no noticable issues. There is absolutely no noise or rubbing coming from them, even with my 245/40/18 on 18x8.5" wheels. I have gotten very used to the ride quality and am extremely pleased with them.
The downside of running such a combo (probably the same with any lowering springs) is that my CV boots were split and needed to be replaced. Fortunately I have a cool service advisor who covered them under warranty. Also, they are replacing the entire front axle because they didn't like the way it was looking either.
I didn't even bring the car in for suspension issues, so I never would have known otherwise. My guess is that some stiffer struts than the GR2s would have taken some strain off the factory parts.
