Find out if your **** has a LED light built into it first. Then get back to us.

But, I mounted mine right by my right knee. And used some tape to block the light.

I didn't have a very hard time running my bass remote wire to my center console. As far as getting the wire under the carpet, try str8ning out a metal close hanger...slide it under the carpet...tape the small end of ur wire to it...and pull the hanger carefully out from under the carpet...Just take ur time and do it right, and make sure ur happy with where ur putting it b4 u start cutting.

OR

take out all seats and center console
take out entire carpet
dampen like uve never dampened before
then its easy to run that wire to the center console!

put all back together

I never use mine either, if u have the proper enclosure, and system tuned correctly...you should never need the boost. It kills SQ just like the LOUD button on a H/U.

Actually, the model amp that's being used, if you don't have the bass **** plugged in, then you lose 1dB of gain. It's the 2004-newer amps that you can leave that circuit disconnected and it won't affect the output.

In my system the **** controls the gain of the amp, it does not only amplify one frequency. I find this to be very helpfull when switching from music that either has a lot of bass or not a lot (when compared to the rest of the of the song). It helps balance out the sound. I do not use it to the point where the bass drowns out the rest of music.

Unlike most people u know not to over use the boost ****. Some people just figure since they have the **** up front they can turn it all the way up to "show off", and that can be hazardous to the sub. My remote that came with my amp has the usual bass boost, but it also allows me to adjust my crossover. Which makes it a lot easier to tune ur system since u can do it from inside the car.

see when i had my car tuned, we set it up so i could run my bass **** to the fullest to get the greatest range of travel. so i would like it up front and i just wasnt up for taking out the drivers seat, thought it might be kinda hard with all the wiring and ****. and im still not sure if i want to drill a hole for the cable to run inside my consol, since it connects with the phone jack and its kind of big so i'd have to make a bigger hole. also i was wondering if i should attach it with screws or if 2way stick tape would work ok?

PS- thanks for all the tips and info

The MTX remote bass **** for there amps is a gain control as well. I pulled the ashtray out of the enclusure and test fit it there. All I need to do is shave down the mounting tabs a bit for a perfect fit. Don't know if this will work for you but it's worth a look.

Since the ashtray is plastic I'm using hot glue to mock it up and be sure everything works ok and then will go back and use super glue to make a permanent bond.

just to verify... so the kicker bass control is a gain control and not a bass boost correct?

Yes. At least for my old amp it is. It is an RGX module (goes inside the amp's module docking port) which adjust the amps volume, and also functions as a 24db/octave subwoofer crossover. You are supposed to adjust the gains as you would normally, with this setting the **** would be at the maximum level, this way you do not make the signal clip. I actually leave a little extra room for when I listen to older rock recordings from the 60's and such.

The **** that you see in the picture is from the current amps. I packed away the original **** that has the old Kicker logo, and forgot where I put it .

i also have a RF with the remote bass control. you can see where it's mounted on the bottom left under the other aux switches. had to cut a hole in the dash to slide in the control module, it fits perfectly and has tabs on both sides to hold it in place. after that i just ran the cord behind the dash, under the floor molding to back of the car and under the rear seat to the amp. works like a charm since it adjusts the bass boost volume of the subs only. that allows me to set the HU bass level lower to get cleaner mids/highs and less distortion to the door speakers.

...and this RF control module does have a red led. doesn't bother me though.

im running a 1200.1 KX series kicker amp...the bass control for the newer subs as well is only a gain control and not a bass boost...i spent some time and used a piece of ABS and custom fit mine into my ash tray...looks pretty good and is easy to hide. i also have a replacement from a junk yard for if i pull the system
