Some quick amp/sup questions

hey guys, im gonna purchase some equipment pretty soon, and i was wondering what are OHMS? would a 4 channel amp run two subs and 4 speakers? is it better to run seperate amps for the subs and speakers? whats crossover? and what is bridging....i looked around on here and i couldnt find anything that answered my specific questions....thanks in advance

for ohms read the thread i just posted in above, 'how would stock non bose comps sound'

a crossover is for component speakers, to separate the frequencies so the midrange speaker sees the correct frequencies, and the tweeter sees its correct frequencies. You dont want a tweeter putting out bass, and you dont want a midrange putting out highs.
