Got a new exhaust....

sort of. stock piping, which i will change eventually, but for now i had the stock muffler chopped off in favor of a Flowmaster 40 series muffler and had a resonated tip tossed on for good measure. sounds great! nice deep throaty sound, not raspy or anything. cant hear it at all while cruising in 6th gear, no drone at all. anyways, the tip is a little weird, sort of, but there wasnt anything smaller that was resonated. anyways, i have a vid of the thing, for sound and all, but i dont know where to post it......*sigh*

what do yall think? ricey? i like it.

I would say to lose the tip and go with a smaller one....the muffler will probably still give it the nice tone without the resonated tip.....the single tip like that looks kinda funny IMO, but it's your car, not mine

I think it looks great. Much smaller than the Greedy coffe can that came with my setup. How often do you look at the muffler anyway.

i like it but like the stock muffler SE tip better.

I had this muffler on my old max when i was turbo'ed, but had no resonator and it was a little loud.

Hope u get clips soon, would like to hear it on stock setup.

Sorry to say that I think that kit sounds like a chevy S-10 pickup with a muffler. However, kudos to you for trying something new. I have the HKS rear section on my 2kSe and it sounds really great. I had it coupled with the Stillen y-pipe for about a week and couldn't bear the sound which reminded me of an S-10 pickup with an exhaust. It was loud and obnoxious. With the y-pipe removed I regained some torque that the y-pipe took, lost a little top end, which is ok since I don't need to do 110mph everywhere I go and got the sound that I was looking for.

i will eventually do a whole system, but for now, on my budget, a muffler only was in the cards. i wanted a nicer tone.......well a tone at all since the stock muffler is so quiet. army pay stinks!

jim

good news is in august im getting a 10k dollar bonus!

here is a vid(as per request) from the inside of the car. obviously the cam is hanging outside of the window......if i posted the vid of the one with the windows up you cant hear ANYTHING. anyways, its kinda hard to hold a camera and shift AND hold the wheel straight.........AND hit turn signals. as you can prolly tell the vid quality is set low to make the file smaller.

i will get one last vid of the car driving past........from outside, just gotta find a camera man. anyways, homemade cai and flowmaster pwns me.

another vid

jim

I think it looks and sounds pretty good. I've always been a big fan of the Flowmaster products.

At first I though it sounded like a chevy s-10, however, from inside the car it sounds pretty nice. I love Flowmasters and had them on my 5.0.
