Nismo head gasket?

Does anyone know by how much nismo head gaskets lower the compression? With the metal gaskets, would i be able to reliably sport 350 hp on stock internals and valvetrain, and would the fuel rail hold up? I know i need injectors, a new MAF, ECU, Fuel pump, big turbo setup with big fmic. Any ideas?

Personally, I would be more worried about how to keep a working tranny on that thing. I'd have to say it would be cool to see it done.

Would a 5 speed lsd with a 6 puck clutch and fidanza flywheel not hold up? It will be done once i find out how.

the external parts of the tranny aren't the problem. it's the bearings, gears, and synchros on the inside that can't handle the power.

So what are the limitations on the tranny, and is there any way of changing thoses?

in my opinion the limitations are a stock VE cause ive broke quite a few with a slightly moded one

if you dont rag on it to much like power shifting and droping the clutch with sticky tires it would proboly be fine for awhile but if you really beat on it oyu would be changing trans 2 or 3 times a year

heres a thread on beefing it up which im in the process of doing right now

headgaskets aren't really an issue with these engines. nissan uses a pretty nice quality headgasket and clamps them down pretty well. i've not really seen too many high powered Z guys going for aftermarket ones. a few have, but not that many to my knowledge.

as long as you supply enough fuel to keep the engine from detonating, a headgasket will be the least of worries (i.e. transmissions as the others have mentioned)

as for actually beefing it up, it's only a matter of how much you want to spend.

i don't want to spend much (you guys love it when i say that). My friend races a 400 hp fwd eclipse on a stock tranny, just a nice flywheel and clutch and dsm's are worse than nissans. i asked about the head gasket, because i'd rather not have to buy a vg30et. What are the limitations of the stock engine, and will the fuel rail support 350hp?

Yeah i wish there was a list of everything that you needed to buy to run turbo, that would be almost worth paying to have.

you can take maf out of it unless you're wanting to run a lot of power. the stock maf will handle plenty to tear apart the tranny.

the headgasket in the vg30e and vg30et should be the same.
