'93 motor into an '89???
ok this weekend i will be performin' a big project. as u all know i own an '89 SE 5-speed and a '93 GXE 5-speed. i bought the '89 back in Feb. '05 cuz the previous owner thought he blew a head gasket so i offered him money and got it with rims and lowered. well it turned out that i fixed the problem on the '89 by noticin' that he blew a hose goin' into the firewall makin' him think he blew a gasket. the car ran good for about 2 weeks and then it just turned off while drivin' and never turned back on. well tried to fix it again this past Sun. cuz i noticed that the front injector wires were bein' pinched by the intake plenum. well that didn't work so i just gave up. now i currently have a '93 VG motor that im gettin' ready to swap into my '93. im doin' this swap cuz my current motor in my '93 has a crap load of miles and the motor im swappin' in barely made it to 105k miles though im changin' t-belt, w/p, gaskets and seals, new exhaust studs, etc... to get to the point i know that the wire harness on the injectors r different on both my '89 and '93. what i need to know is can i swap my current '93 motor into my '89 and just splice the injector harness on my '89 to accomodate for the injectors on the '93 motor??? i need to do this a.s.a.p. cuz i need to swap my '93 motor into my '89 and swap my new motor into my '93. can the splicin' be done on my '89 or do i have to go through the hassle of changin' my injectors???
I have an 89 se with a 91 VG30e. I put it in real easy-like. If both engines are vg30e s, it should be direct replacement, no problems, the only difference that i can think of is that in 1991 they started making vg30e s that didn't snap crankshaft snouts as easily ( that's what an import mechanic told me a while back ). I don't see why splicing won't work if you trust your wiring skills.

well of course i trust my wirin' skills cuz i've done practically everything on my car on my own. i know that its an easy swap its just i want to know if i can splice the injector wires of my '89 since the harness is different and put '93 injector harness on my '89 so that it can work right??? now one thing i left out do i also have to swap out the ECU out of my '89 cuz of the '93 injectors im puttin' in???

will do as soon as the weather down here in Miami gets better. hopefully if its nice and sunny this Sun. i should be able to pull out the motor out of my '89 and get it ready to swap in the other motor off of my '93 and splice the wires as well along with puttin' in a used ABS pump and a new clutch plate so i can use the '89 while my '93 is out of commission and gettin' prepped for minor work in the engine bay and then swap in my new motor in it. i took pics today of my new motor so i'll post when i get a chance since i took of the upper and lower intake plenum/manifold and thermostat housin' to get ready for sandblasting. can't wait when both cars r done.
