RSTB custom boxes in your trunks
RSTB custom boxes in your trunks
Im seriously considering designing a custom subwoofer box for my trunk. I do not have a bose stereo system, and there is an opening in the rear deck where the bose sub would be. Im thinking about buildint a box that will have the sub mounted just below the opening, or have the boxes ports blow right into that opening. I was wondering if anyone has doen this and if they had any pictures. where the RSTB comes into play.... Im wondering what would happen should i wish to add an RSTB in the future. it is something im strongly considering and was hoping some of you out there have seen or doen this before.

if you have a ported box blow right into the bose vent, would be ok. but mounting a subwoofer to the upper deck would probably put too much stress on the box, and the mounting housing/screwes. if you want to go with an aftermarket sub that mounts in place of bose, i would go with a small 6" free air sub. anything bigger, like a 10" or a 12" should probably go into a sealed box. just my .02.

i was planning on building a box that raises the port hole up to the the underside of the deck OR building some sort of support to raise the sub up to the underside of the deck. but i think i may be wasting my time entertaining that thought. most likely ill buld something thattl fit below the rear deck to allow sound to come up through the deck.
Any suggestions or pictures that would help? i am most certainly going to post pictures when im doen and maybe a write up if it gets to be soemthing complicated
