Hello all. Just looking for some problem solving advice here:
My Max is is making a clunk niose (I can feel it too) during acceleration - appears to "reset" after breaking to a stop.

Background: Replaced struts, strut mounts, springs (Tein-H) last month and initially everything was fine for 700 miles or so - I have since checked and re-checked torque on all bolts/nuts to cure problem to no avail.

My first thought was ball joints - however I replaced these last year and I'm doubtful - I went ahead and ordered new ones thinking that my lowered ride stressed (lowering springs and GR-2s) them into a new wear pattern.

Anyway, is there a chance that this is related to the dreaded engine mount issue I have read about here on the org?

Try checking the front stabilizer bar bushings, if these are worn out, particularly on one side of the bar, then it can cause a clunk sound when accelerating or stopping, depending on which side is worn out.

 

I get this clunk now too. All my stabilizer bar bushings are new. I think it's the engine mounts...
