Need new exhaust, from y to muffler...
my b-pipe is bent and my muffler is rusted, so I might as well change the y-pipe while at it and get some hp.
What would you guys do?
-go for budget which is the most reliable for not having 'bees in the can'
-or go for warspeed, around 100-150 less than budget
also what muffler would you guys recommend?,
I want a quiet muffler, not stock cuz it's too expensive.
thanks

how much snow do you get where you live? if your concerned about rusting issues then id say get the stainless steel budget y; if not get the wsp one for $160.
for bpipes im a fan of getting a custom bpipe made by a local shop. get them to quote you on a price for a bpipe with a resonator welded in. if their price turns out to be more expensive then budgets with a resonator then id go with the budget.
as for mufflers if you want quiet then theres no better one then a stock muffler. im sure you can find one without getting raped by a dealer too, just search the for sale forums for awhile and youll most likely find somebody that wants to sell you theirs. however, if you want a little louder then stock most people go with a dynomax super turbo. its very quiet but still gives enough rumble at startup to let you know its aftermarket. i think thats the muffler im going to go with when i get my exhaust set up.
make sure you find a good muffler shop locally though and they will hook you up. i mean they do it every day of their lives for a living, you can trust them. another plus to having a muffler shop make your bpipe is that if your going to have them install everything anyways then usually theyll will knock a few bucks off the bpipe since your already doing business with them.
oh and you might as well put on a nice 6" coffee can tip on your new muffler while your at it. (
) actally i think most would agree with me in saying that in this case 6" is just way to big.

wsp y-pipe + magnaflow SS muffler...
i had that setup before...it's very quiet with little growl between 2k-3k.
in fact i still have the muffler sitting in my garage. it's already welded to fit on my stock b-pipe. i can let it go for $125 shipped to ur house. PM me if u are interested.

i just replaced all that i did stock muffler + mid pipe and i plan on ordering the budget y pipe. Be prepared to cut and drill out bolts from the muffler and mid pipe thats what i had to do good luck. Oh yea PB blaster, make friends with it youll need it. I got the stock muffler for 109$ with a lifetime warranty. The mid pipe was 93$ with a resonator. Make sure you get the gaskets for the mid pipe and the where the muffler meets the mid pipe
the only bad part about having a custom b-pipe is that most of the time, muffler shops dont have a mandrel bender. I have a custom bent one, 2.5", but at the bends, its more like 2". Im looking into getting a resonated budget, or resonated wsp later on this summer.
I have warpspeed y, budget ss (resonated) b-pipe, magnaflow muffler. Loud as ****!!!
As you, I had to replace my b-pipe out of neccessity. A dynomax super turbo is very close to stock, but your exhaust is still gonna be on the rowdy side.

6" tip thats not to big...I took a coffee grinds can and took it up to PAUL (my exhaust guy) and got him to weld it on, now I have an 8" tip...its not bad looking, I can send pics if you want.
that was totally a joke dont worry.

Dude ... after finishing my Budget-Y, my exhaust tone has DEFINATELY changed. I am sooooo pissed because everyone told me I wouldn't hear a thing, but when you just stand behind the car you can hear a Honda Civic. It has this horrible drone from idle - 2000 RPMs. I have got to get rid of that or I am going to go nuts. I don't want to hear anything just like stock exhaust. Is this possible from exhaust leaks?
