car has been bogging since day 1

My max now has 95k on it and I got it at 79k. Around 85k, I had the plugs, filters and all necessary things for the 60k tuneup done except for a coolant flush. at 92k, I had the new KS put in and I returned back to the stock intake setup, in hopes of getting SOME throttle response.

From a dead stop at a light, the only way I could get my car to get moving would be to slam on the gas and wait 2 seconds and the rpm's would jump to 4k. When pressed normally, the car would accelerate extremely slowly and would always bog around 2000-2500 until i floor the gas again. No matter how much I mash the gas, the rpm's always lull around 2000-2500, and then pulls hard 3k and beyond.

Currently on the car I have the code 0420, which is for the front o2, and i have oil leaking from my camshaft position sensor. When running there is a strong scent of gasoline from the exhaust, and occasionally smelled while sitting inside the car

The only thing i want right now is for the car to run right. The culprits are o2 sensor, camshaft pos sensor, coilpacks (i'm a 99), vaccuum leak, maf,.... i just wanted some of your input on what else i should be suspicious of. sorry for the long post.

if it is bogging at 2-2.5K RPM and refuses to go over that, then it is going to "safe mode" which means most likely means the MAF sensor is fcked up.

But typically it would thorw a code for the MAF and would bog at all rpms, and not go voer 2.5k ...

i was thinking of cleaning the maf while i clean the tb this weekend. I read that you could just run some rubbing alcohol over the wire and let that dry.

The first step is to change the O2 sensor and clear the error code. See if that helps you out. If it still bogs, then I'd suspect the MAF is on it's way out.

Coils misfire under a load so your pull over 3K, which you say is good, would be where you'd feel your coils acting up.

Don't worry so much about the oil leak, as long as it's not excessive.

Just to clarify - you are saying that since he feels good acceleration above 3k, its unlikely to be a coil problem right?
