4 of 6 fog lights burnt out in 2 weeks

hey all,
i keep buying them and they keep blowing :\
a pair i bought with the car are factory, 2 other sets are ultra bright bulbs.
at first, with the first two sets, only the right side kept blowing. so i would buy a new set and try that. 3rd pair that's in there now, right side went first the other day and just today i noticed that the left side was out too. theyre getting power, no burning wires, no aperent damage...i know that theyre in that socket joint thing where theyre held in on one side. not shaking around or anything over bumps...i dont understand
anybody have any ideas? thanks

depends on the brand as well..i have never had a prob wit piaa bulbs...even the Nokya bulbs blow....try the piaa's they are more expensive for a reason...and i suggest purchasing them from a local shop, simply because they are warrantied thru the place of purchase...i have never had them blow i have always useed them...so dont order offline...its like 15 dollars cheaper, but just in case by from a shop

also, try using electrical tape around each wire that goes to the connector. i had this same problem, did this, and never blew a fog bulb again. There should be two wires, one red and one black, wrap each one in electrical tape. Worth a shot.

i havent worn gloves to put the bulbs in...i know for a fact i dont touch them though, only on the metal part but not any of the glass. i try my best not to, that much i know..
ill try the electrical tape on there, i have some already around the wire that connects to the bulb. the black and red wire havent got any bare spots, i dont know why tapeing them would work, but ill try
and yeah i was thinking about buying some real bulbs like the ones the car came with but i was worried they would just burn out. this sucks, my fogs matched my headlamps for a day

besides the factory bulbs, i have the exact same aftermarket brand of bulbs installed in my headlamps and theyre atleast 4 months old with no problems. i think the bulb is not the problem :\

yes, even my piaa bulbs. i was getting mad. i thought i kept blowing a fuse, but the fuse was fine. i tried the tape, in case the wires were somehow interfering with each other. i was ordering bulbs every other week

PIAA bulbs are warrantied for 1 year. Save your receipt and you'll get replacements free.

Don't use anything over 55 watts in the fogs, they generate to much heat for the small enclosure which causes premature failure.

i always used 55 watts, and i didnt want to deal with the hassle of sending them back in and all that non sense. so i just was buying bulbs from wal mart, or auto zone. sometimes it would be the driver side, then the passenger, then both.
