Clean those connectors.

Tore the max down today. Did Timing belt(very loose). Connectors to injectors/Maf/tps very rusty. Only good connectors on car were the ones going to transmission. Took me about one hour to get crank sprocket off to change crank seal. Monday i will clean throttle body/iac valve very dirty even after intake cleaning from a about 2 weeks ago. Looks like it cleaned some chambers of intake plenum but not all. Well to make a long story short I narrowed the rough running and non start to bad connections and loose timing belt. I will button car up by end of the week

hey great work, few people understand the problem with corroding connectors. I've soldered a bunch of them (MAF, Temp, VTC solenoids). Most people assume their 10-15 year old car still makes 160,190

he means that it lacks the computer and it's resultant bad connections, that can degrade over time like the max has

do you mean youve cut the plug off and soldered the wires directly onto the sensors terminals

YES, I drilled an eye hole in the terminal (by supporting it with a small piece of wood, drilling through the plastic and the terminal). On the VTC's and temp sensor I had to extend the wires.
