Do our bose head units require a security code?

Does the bose head unit require a security code when reinstalled? I have a 96 headunit in a 97 max. A circuit board is broken inside it. When I reconnected it, nothing worked. I'm wondering if its from the broken circuit board or there's a security code required.

Thanks. I needed that response fast. Time to go rip this thing apart again. Only 2hours of driving without a radio, and I've nearly lost it. At least the pipes and intake give me something to listen to. Then again, I start hearing squeeks that I never heard before. I need to block them out with a radio.

You need the "no-choke cd" code of 666.
