a free 92se and a 200k tune up...plus Qs!

Hey guys just got a 92se 5pd w/ 200k on it for free!!!!
my 4th gen burned to the ****ing ground on friday the 13th
anyways i'm doing a tune up/fixing stuff and this is what i'v done so far....
air filter
fuel filter
oil change
new pcv valve
cleaned throttle body and butterfly
6 new ngk spark plugs
2 rebuilt rear calipers(old ones were junk)
2 new rear pads + rotors
2 new front axeles(old ones both clicking away)
major and i mean MAJOR cleaning of the car...it was dirty everywhere interior, exterior, engine bay...now she is so clean...but i degress

my baby just passed inspection today but i was lucky...
i seem to have a fuel leak somewhere because i can smell the stuff...luckily the inspection guy didn't...any chance this is a common problem on the max? i havn't looked for a leak yet...

the VTCs click away so i grounded out the closer connector which i think i'm supposed to do to help stop the clicking....and cleaned the connectors throughly...seemed to help a bit but still much noise...

so my question is what else can i do to help my old max?
maybe some sea foam action?
comments or suggestions are welcome.
thank in advance guys...

Check for fuel leaks around where the VTC's are. There is a "fuel bridge" that links the front and rear fuel rails on that side of the engine. Mine was leaking from the short rubber fuel hoses there. Also check the hoses from the fuel filter to the pressure regulator. Tighten the clamps for a temp solution or just replace the hoses.

well it looks like a cigarrette caught fire on the super comfy furry blanket i had in the rear seat...but i havn't got the final word on what caused it...

so no more 4th gen =[

the fuel smells like it's comming from near the tank btw. not the engine at all...i'll go jack it up tomarow and have a look see. hopefully it's something simple and easy to fix...ya thats likely....

so nothing else for maintenance i can do eh....didn't think so...

you might want to check the filler neck behind the rear seat. I seem to recall that being a problem -- it is prone to hidden rust.

Also, see what MrGone's problem was. I remember he had some kind of gas incident in the back of his. I think he had to replace a gasket on the gas tank or something.

thanks for the help guys...

i'll have to ask him about his fuel problem thanks for the suggestion red92maxse...btw your car is HOT!

i think i'm going to drive this car into the ground...as in its so much cheaper to insure myself and no car payments... i love it. also unless the engine goes or there is some other MAJOR mechanical problem i can fix it forever and ever...or untill i'm silly rich and then i can get my g35

Check the rubber hose that connects the filler neck to the tank. Mine was dripping and all I did was reposition the large spring clamp to stop the dripping.

Check rear wheel wells for rust, as well as fuel/brake lines all the way to front.

Some groundings and connector cleanups will keep u on the road, click: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/14 ...and so on.
