Or check your registration card, not as accurate as getting on a scale, but it should be pretty close. Mine reads 3184 ..

Registration card is worthless IMO. It says my car weights 1438 kg (3163 lbs) while it really weights 2890. It also says that my Mercury Topaz was just as heavy as my max, and that my sister's B13 is heavier than my 4th gen. Buch of bullsh*t. Most tracks have a scale, that's where I weighted mine.

A guy on Altimas.net changed on 3rd gear and FD (from a Pulsar) into his tranny (same as ours), so I could change 2nd and 3rd, but yeah I should keep the same 1-5 gears, just switch final drive. According to the 1995 FSM, it's not really that hard. Thank god I don't have an auto.

This went from g-tech thread to a Synchro Support Group.

I'm doing the 5M swap within the next 6 weeks so your info is very informative and appreciated as far as the F/Ds are concerend, as my Maxima is still rocking the 3.0L, so this mod might compliment it well. Since I'll have a chance to crack it open beforehand, might as well do something.

What gtech are you using? I have the old one. What are you all entering as the weight?

Which isn't the case for 99% of us. I don't know of anyone with a modded max that doesn't get wheelhop. I get wheelhop in second sometimes, it's a plague.

i dont get wheel hop. and its accurate if you use it on a road as flat as the track you're comparing it with. Otherwise, the uneven roads throw it off badly

My G tech sucks. Are these things sensitive to being banged around? Just a few days ago I ran my car, then handed it to a friend who ran his truck and went .4 faster then me, so I said lets just race, and I beat him by about 4-5 lengths. It once said I ran 15.2 on nitrous right after running 15.7 without.

well realistically in my eyes its kinda hard to use a mechanism that plugs into your cigarette lighter to measure 1/4 times and HP

That's why tracks and dynos were invented ... I agree, it's good for a rough estimate, but in no way should people be saying " Iran a 14.xx" because the gtech said so ..

wow this is a old thread.

it was the old rader detector looking gtech.

and yes it does throw off the numbers if you have wheel hop or spin.

I forgot the exact weight but i weighed my car at the track and with me in it i remeber it being about 3150? or something like that?
