tape adapter for non bose oem unit

For those who have experience with portable mp3 player, does the sound quality using the tape adapter better than the sound quality of regular FM radio stations.

I would say the sound is about the same with the tape adapter and an FM station. Although, with the adapter you are always guaranteed a slight hiss especially at a higher volume. If the sound quality truly matters, as everyone says, look for a direct connection to the HU

Direct connection would be key.
