Installed Magnaflows, no pics yet

Installed the mufflers yesterday. Damn, they look sweet! I was a bit disappointed however, they're not loud enough. So I plan to go back and pay the 25 bucks to remove the third muffler and replace it with a straight pipe. That's what the muffler shop is recommeding. Any opinions on this?

Yes, I sold out, I didn't do a full custom cat-back, and the tac-welds look kinda ugly under the car but you don't really see it.

photos to come when I get a digital camera but here's a pic of the muffler:

I think the single tips look better and have more of a custom look.

I felt a little bad but I'm on a tight budget. The mags alone were 380+8% tax installed.

Part of the problem is that the Nissan exhaust piping is squashed in places which restricts the exhaust. Without replacing all the pipe from the cat back, you are still restricting the exhaust flow. The best approach is to save and get a cat back system and free up more horses.

I had the factory resonator removed when I had my Magnaflows installed too, it was louder than ****. I went back the same day and had them stick a much smaller than stock one back in, sounds much better... Unless you just really want it loud, I wouldnt recommend straight pipe.

If you want Loud, get a couple of these
http://search.ebay.com/muffler_W0QQf...csZ2QQsbrbinZt
and get a custom pipe job from the cat to the rear.

Total of around $350 with pipe work and should be loud.
I personally would not do it, but it will give you some noise.

I had the resonator removed and it is louder but I like it! It was kind of a shock at first but the rumble is nice! The cut the resonator out and it dropped like a bowling ball! Damn, that thing must weigh 50 pounds.

Has anybody kept the stock exhaust and just replaced the resonator with a pipe? Wondering how much difference in exhaust note you have experienced by doing this.

Don't know about that but my car has to be 100lbs less. The stock exhaust is heavy.

I was wondering about that too. Replace all pipings, but keep stock mufflers. Anyone with just Y-pipe and stock mufflers?

I did this before I got the sp2 and it made the exhaust a little louder but it kinda buzzed high end if you revved it up. other than that it was cool. Definately saved a lil weight by dropping the resonator too.
