6 speed conversion q's

Is it possible to have an 04 auto converted to 6 spd? Will Nissan perform this, or do I have to take it somewhere else? Would it be easier just to get an 05 max 6sp? Thanks, all!

Better just to buy one that's already 6sp for several obvious reasons.

I don't know of anybody that does that on this car... my friend had his late 90s Accord "transmorgified" into a manual, but even then it cost him some dough and took a lot of work.

I suppose anything is possible, you just gotta figure out how much you wanna spend to get it done...

And I'm gonna second the suggestion to just live with it or get a 6-speed if you really want one. It's probably gonna cost too much money and potentially introduce problems. And I doubt any Nissan dealer will do this for you... you're looking for a good mechanic that knows the car and can work magic with transmissions.

I'm sure any loss you take trading in for a stick will be cheaper than attempting the miracle. Include time wise, it'll be way cheaper and ridiculously easier. Besides the obvious transmission itself, other parts are specific to each version including suspension parts.
No way would Nissan perform this. You may get a good laugh out of them. Of course knowing some dealers, they may tink it's cute to quote you like $10,000 to try to scare you away. I would then say, okay when can we get started?

Hmm, I work on Jeeps a lot. One of the biggest things that people like to do is convert from a manual to an auto. Not sure what more would be needed, but here is what's required for a Jeep.

1) New PCM
2) Transmission
3) Wiring
4) Bellhousing conversion
5) Clutch, Clutch slave and master cylinder kit, and a new break and clutch pedel...
6) Finally the shifter. You'll need to install the rods and shifter - not as easy as one might think due to the tranny being in the front of the car.
7) Reserved if I'm forgetting a few things....

My advice is always the same, try to find a Jeep/car with it already installed. Good luck.
