Do they have some big dude jump up and down on your bumper to test it?

Sure you do Nicky Boy, u want to move to parsippany and we can be bestest friends.

They really do test suspension here. You pull up on this thing that looks like a lift and the two sides bounce up and down really fast and if you car moves, you fail. Your car is suppose to sit still where your suspension bounces. Its hard to describe. Damn NJ!

I live in NJ and I've never heard of this before. Is it new? I'm dreading inspection because of my tint...

As of what i know, its pretty new. They have tested my friends car adn my dads truck. I know private inspections dont do it, but it also costsa about $80 for it. Im worried about my tints, suspension, & NOS.

What % tint do you have? Are you going to attempt to pass with it on? Let me know how it turns out.

Thanks,

I live in NJ and had my car inspected in March with the new system. They do check the suspension. I had H&R with the stock shocks and I passed. As for the tints you will fail if you have your front two windows tinted, unless of course you have a special permit for tints. I will post a thread explaining this.

This isn't fair!!

I purchased my car in 3/01. The previous owner had the 20% tint installed. I need to get the car inspected in 3/02 and I'm worried that I will fail because of the tint!

Why does NJ have all these stupid laws anyway? I mean, even though my tint is 20%, you can still see very clearly through the windows (due to the fact that I have tan interior). You can see everything inside the car, especially when you are close to the car.

Where in NJ are you Synki? I'll probably be going to the inspection station that is located on Route 1 near the Quakerbridge Mall (at least I think that's Route 1). Also, when are you do for inspection?

Oh well, I'm sorry I'm venting here. I like my tint, and I don't want to take it off. I just want them to pass me and let me be on my way. I'm thinking about letting my dad take it through inspection...I don't know why, maybe they'll pass him.

Nick... one of the guys i deliver auto parts to is going to be doing my inspection. Private Inspections, they dont do the suspension test and braking test (as of what i know) but it is costing my $82.50 for it. THe good thing is, he knows what i ahve done and whatnot so he know's i'll pass emissions and whatnot with flashign colors. That right there eliminated two of my probs. My last prob is my tint. He also knows i ahve tinted windows, i told him i will roll down there with them down. I am paying for the inspection but he is ignoring my tint. So basically he is passing me illegaly. BTW, i am nowhere near rt1. I am up in Morris co (Morristown). BTW, are you going to the meet?

Well, what I have decided to do here is to just try to pass (I might have my dad take the car for me). If I fail, then I have no other choice, and I'll be taking the tint off my two front windows. I'll just have to get on with my life and enjoy my tint on only the back 3 windows!

No meet for me. I can't make it.
