adjustable tint

Has anyone seen an adjustable tint? I know it's fairly old idea -http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/5390045.html - and I know they are available for home - http://www.infinitint.com/index.cfm?...=products.home - but I can't find anything for automotive.

Let me just say anything is possible to do. Especially putting this on a car I'm sure someone could do it, but if you think tint now is expensive wait and see how much something like that would be to install.

What the hell is that picture about?

Anyway, if you want it it's going to be really expensive. And that is even if they do it on cars. I wouldn't do it. Looks to me at certain levels that it has that purple tint color, which is I think I really ugly color.

just think about all of the cops you can **** off trying to give you a tint ticket. that would be great. i thought a while back toyota was dong something simular to this on the 4runner. i think it went from tinted to no tint.

A trekky ehh? freaken beam me up scotty ehh, photon torpedos in your but sir, yes sir launching now, weirdos

Any ways you could do it but the glass needs to be two layers thick, like two piece of glass next to each other with room in between which would allow the gas to be in their, or dude just put some blinds on their lol j/k

That was my initial idea - just for that I would pay any price (well to some limit).

the Maybach has something like that on the panoramic roof i believe along with some sort of lighting system that can make it look as though it is day even at night..i dont think a system like that should cost too much i mean it is on a maybach.pfff..$300k

I believe that lexus already has the patent on the liquid crystal layered glass which serves as a switchable tint. Too expensive to create at this time.

its an electro sencitive film, when you pass current through it, the film gets darker or lighter. i am not sure if its metal shavings that align themselves at a sertain angle to darken the film, or some other filler. i also beleive that its thicker film, and has elecrical connections like our rear-window defroster, so putting it on side windows is not a good idea.

I heard that that type of thing requires 2 layers of glass and in between those two layers there is some kind of gas that controls all that...

its a similar idea, except controlled by electric current.

In the home apps, you cannot see thru once the lcd panel is turned on. It's not clear.
