What's quieter, Cattman or Frankencar?

I'm on the fence regarding the Cattman and Frankencar exhaust. I want something quiet and I'm only interested in the rear-section. Sway my decision people!

So far it seems people feel the Frankencar is the quieter of the two.

Frankencar is the quietest aftermarket exhaust available for the Max...

frankencar is the quietest but the heaviest and the worst fitting of the two, keep that in mind

The weight doesn't bother me because I don't plan on racing 1/4 mile times or anything, just want the sweet exhaust tone. But the fitment issue might be a problem. Can you elaborate?

for sweet exhaust tone, especially when going with just axle back get a cattman or a mossy (same exhaust, sold by different companies)

Worst fitting? I don't think I've ever read anyone on here w/a FC complaining abt fitment. Mine was perfect.

I like my Greddy exhaust. I thought it was loud but I had a hole on one of my pipes (pre SS Greddy days) and now it sounds awesome.

I dont know about the frankencar... but the Cattman fit perfect and "felt" like it was not as heavy as the stock stuff. Keep in mind I did not throw them on a scale so I dont know if Cattman is heavier or not... as far as sound. It sounds great, the loudest point for my exhaust is around 2,000rpms. before and after that it is quite. I will also have the stock y-pipe on my car for right now untill I can install my Hotshot headers, then I can really tell how the Cattman sounds.

My Frankencar cat-back fits perfectly... I've heard of not one other person with fitment issues with any of their Frankencar parts to date... sound wise, I think its quiet... barely louder than stock from in the cabin...

The cattman ...........

I would go with the Cattman. I did. Especially if you are looking for a sweet exhaust note. You said you dont care abbout the weight & your not racing so I am assumeing you dont have any performance mods. I would defintely go Cattman otherwise you might not notice a difference in sound from stock. Alot of the guys here who went frankencar also had headers & intakes y-pipes and were looking to quiet the car down. So if your going this route stictly fo looks & sound I would go Cattman. My 2 cents. Hell you might even see me around we live in the same area. If you see me around in my car & want to hear it dont hesitate to ask.

Definitely get the frankencar if you want "quiet" performance....if you want something to spice up the exhaust tone even further....Cattman is the way to go.....

I personally have the cattman headers, budget test pipe, and cattman catback...let me tell you, this thing is LOUD at WOT....especially after 5k....but since you only want the rear section....I'm pretty sure its still relatively quiet as long as all your stock exhaust components are still on....a few months ago I was running just a cattman catback and to me it was nowhere near loud....and I can only imagine just a rear section being quiet as hell still...

Worst fitting of the two? You got that theory from where? Mine fit like a glove and so did many others. Assumption is wrong.

I just installed the Cattman rear section. Perfect fittment, but heavier than the stock section. By how much I'm not sure. Overall a slight bit louder at idle and when accelerating. Sounds stock at steady speeds. The tone is deeper and mellow. Exactly the sound I was looking for.

The rest of my exhaust is stock, except for a resonated test pipe.

all those threads about FC not fitting right, i honestly think they're just installing it wrong. the FC setup is soo high in quality, and it fits like a glove for everyone else. definitely not a fitment issue with them. and yea, the cattman has a bigger resonator but apparently it's still louder and raspier

The only things I've heard about fitment is that the FC rear is slightly larger and heavier. Clearances may be a little tighter and you might need to beef the hangers. That's only problems (?) I've heard about. This is what I've read on other posts, not personal experience. Both rear sections appear to be very high quality, with the FC being quieter, like others have said.

So if I am correct, the frakencar rear section is alot more muted than the Moussy/cattman exhaust? I have the full catback exhaust from cattman and when I added the headers and high performance cat, my exhaust was LOUD. I took off the rear muffler and put back on the stock one, and the exhaust got really quiet and meaty, like the G35 sedan. I hate the look of the stock exhaust though, and I want another rear section but I don't want to go back to the loud cattman exhaust. So with I/H/E/P the frakencar muffler sound alot better with that combo? Or should I just buy resonated tips for my cattman muffler?

cuz i know someone with the cattman rear section only and it was a little raspy that's the only reason why i say so, but then again it was a 3.0L if that has anything to do with it...

I have the Frankencar catback awesome sound, i've also heard a mossy/catman with headers (Blackbirds car) and its not loud at all, i mean standing still we're about same tone, only difference i'd say was accelerating his might have a louder sound but then again he has headers, which i should have sooon mauahahhahahahaha.

I think I'm going to get the Cattman. I'm not planning on adding anything beyond the rear section so that should satisfy my needs.

Kevon1 - Do you attend any meets or hang out anywhere in particular? I'd like to hear your Cattman sometime.

if it's just the look that you hate, why don't you consider getting some magnaflow tips? IMO they look really good!
go here: https://www.justmagnaflow.com/Tips/SingleWall.htm
and get the 35131 ...just a suggestion!

EDIT: here's a picture (courtesy of: 808MAX-SPEC)...just get them welded onto your stock muffler, and you're good to go!

I have the Stillen rear section and I love it, sound is deep and mellow and NOT loud at all. I have no intake or anything else installed yet and it sounds very close to a 300ZX. Only thing I would change is the tip cause I think dual tip looks better on a max.

If we consider the sound of a stock exhaust as 0 and Infiniti G35 coup as 3 how loud would you consider the full cat-back from Cattman, Frankencar and Greddy?
