Car works strange after changing o2 sensor.

Hey you guys I changed my sensor and unpluged the battery for overnight and the sensor light went away. But what I noticed, sometimes when you start the engine the engine just shuts off, mine RPM are like in 500 when it does that while I think they should be in 1000 RPM for the car to run on drive without pressing the pedal. I don't know maybe the ECU is just reprograming itself after being disconnected for a night and it takes some time to fix it? Did anyone had this problem???

try that...unplugging the battery won't reset the ECU like on the 5th gens....i'm not sure if you have to have it reprogrammed by the dealer or not when replacing an O2 sensor, but try this and see if it works..

My SES light is gone, so how am I suppose to know if the procedure will work, or not. So I guess the light will come back on if the ECU was not reseted after unpluging the battery.

when i installed my GAB, my car kept on stalling out just like you're saying upon start-up....i asked a bunch of people what to do on the .org and they said do the idle air volume learning procedure....so i did all the steps listed above, and everything worked out just fine...my car hasn't done it since....you might as well give it a try...what have you got to lose?
