need suggestions for a new amp: subs are 500-1000 RMS
Hey guys I currently have 2 RF DVCs (old schools 2210s) that are being pushed by a RF 250a2 bridged mono. I suspect the subs are getting around 550 or 600 watts together. I am looking for a amp suggestion that would get me in the 750 or 800 watts RMS a apiece for each amp. The setup I have right now isn't bad and she definitely sounds a lot louder than she looks, but I want something that is really going to pound those subs out. I'm looking at spending between $400 - $600 dollars. These are 4ohms that can be bridged down to 2. Let me know what your suggestions are.
check out the MTX 801d a pair of them would be about $500 and you would have some serious power for each sub.

If there Dual 4 then your final load is 1 0hm. I would look into a ED9.1, $350 brand new with warranty. Also, T1000 will work well, as well as a Kicker 1200.1. Im not to fond of Memphis amps, there subs are very good however. Theres a article/review in Carsound that states the Memphis only puts a little less thann 1000 watts but does it with a high THD.
The bad thing with Memphis, is to hit the power levels they say, you have to be running the amp at 13.8 volts constantly. But I have seen first hand the MC1100D push 1000 watts @ 1ohm with 12.5 volts
The really nice feature with the M Class amps is they're easily bridged together with the units. And the new MadMax series is just a power house.
They're PR series isn't all that great. The Mojo was a awesome series... and M3 could handle itself pretty well. But recently they've dumped their money into the M Class and Madmax.

I wouldnt doubt the amps does its rated power at a proper voltage but for such a highly respected company and a amp with a hefty pricetag I expect more than what its rated for. I've personally ran a few different Memphis subs and have been happy with all of them.

It used to be hard to breath with my old system with the windows up.
I find it hard to breath with the new setup and the WINDOWS DOWN!!!! That's only with 4 12" MClass and 500 watt Memphis amp. Can't wait till I stuff that new MC1100D in my truck
