Can you help me figure out if these are authentic titanium rims?

Hi,

First, thanks to those who have helped me already...

A friend of mine helped me get these rims off ebay. I just wanted to make sure that these are the same as my titanium edition ones. I have 2 bent rims, and one of them costs as much as this entire set.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ME:B:EOAB:US:6

Is there a way of telling if these are authentic nissan rims, and not replicas. And is there a way of telling that these are actual titanium ones and not just regular stock ones painted by someone.

Here is what the seller responded to me:

HI AGAIN ...

THE FINISH IS A "TITANIUM" PAINT ... IT'S MADE THAT WAY FROM THE DEALER ... THERE ARE VERY VERY FEW OF THESE SETS, SINCE IT ONLY CAME ON A LIMITED EDITION OF CARS ONE YEAR ONLY ...

THE SAME WHEEL IS COMMONLY USED ON OTHER MAXIMAS, IT WAS JUST PAINTED A DIFFERENT COLOR FROM THE DEALER ...

Also, is this a decent deal?
Please let me know,
Thanks again!

Hi,

I have them also, I just don't know if there is a way to tell. I would hate to pay so much for replicas, or for the non-titanium ones.

Is this a good idea, to replace 2 bent rims? Or do you think it would be better to get a whole different line of rims?

Thanks!

If you like the TE rims, I would stick with those. I personally like the stock TE rims and would not change to aftermarket ones.

Hi,

I definitely will buy them, but really don't want the hassle of getting them and them not being as advertised and then having to use the protection policies.

I appreciate all your thoughts on this!

Looks like you guys are confident with the rims. I feel better now.

Any chance that these are the stock rims and then someone just painted over them?

What should I do with the 2 bent rims that I have now?

Thanks!

If those are real, then you got hell of a deal. Because the replicas go for the amount you paid, so the real ones are obviously a lot more expensive. Goodbuy.

If anyone read the item description, the wheels are not in prefect condition. He states some of the wheels are worn down to the black primer, which is why all 4 wheels are so cheap.

Hi,

I definitely saw that before having my buddy buy it. Considering what the dealer was asking for one of them, I though anything was better. It come out to about $155 shipped for each rim. I definitely was timid about that. But the main concern was whether or not they are authentic.

As this 100% positive seller stated, the spots are tiny, and it has some very small nicks. My current rims already have that. I guess I'm more concerned about the safety of having bent rims.

I'm just relieved that most of you think these are actual nissan rims, and that these are a decent deal.

Thanks!

You should ask the guy to take a picture of the nissan name stamped on the inner wheel if you are that concerned. They look real to me and a nice grab.

what I know about these is that the titanium will chip, badly at that. So if the have small chips the chances are that is will get worse. I know this from almost buying the 2003 titanium edition max and the one rim had this going and spreading, so did the other 3 wheels but not as bad.

****!! I need to be careful, up until now all four of the rims on my TE are perfect, no chips. But I should probably keep an eye on them.

If I do see a chip is there a way to stop them from spreading? I really like these wheels!

Hi,

If these are the real thing I will just be happy to have them. The truth is mine are not perfect to begin with, and as long as they are not bent I'll be thrilled. I'll probably just swap out my 2 bent ones, for 2 of the new ones. Being in nyc, safety and practicality will have to come first. Otherwise, I'd be looking at 19's

Will "Nissan" be stamped inside the wheel somewhere? Is there anything else I should be looking for to confirm their authenticity?

Thanks!

"Nissan" should be stamped on one of the spokes of the rims in back, also there should be a size stamped there too like 17 x 7, oh yeah its not stamped but they are pored like that the name and size are actually cast into the rim.
