Please Evaluate My Proposed System!

Well, after looking around for a bit, I think I have a system that would work fine, for a budget. It all honestly started with the HU, which I really like for two reasons:

1. Included microphone to auto-set some parameters, compensate for road noise, and just because its a geeky kind of cool.

2. TwinCeiver and a built in secondary antenna will hopefully let me pull in a radio station from St. Thomas (next island over) that I really enjoy but can only hear from certain locations.

This HU is on sale right now at Crutchfield, as are a lot of the Blau products and I'm planning on getting just that, even if I don't buy the rest of the system. If I had more money I'd go with Infiniti components, but the budget does not allow that right now.

Anyway, please tell me your opinions on the equipment selected. It stands at about $1,100 without shipping, and I hope to do all of the installation myself. Thanks everyone!

the kappa is 150 and the rf is 60, big difference in price range there buddy. i would get the RF over the kappa neday because kapp is an egg shell speaker in the heat.

Oh yeah the Kappa is more than double the $$ than the RF, but the only reason I even thought about it is that it lists as being free-air ready. I don't know how much that will affect the RF that is not meant for that type of installs.

you could damage the sub if its not in a box, thats why some of the subs are made to be able to use free air.

So basically you are asking if Blaupunkt is good. Ive never installed anything by them, and nobody I know or have seen is running any of their equipment. I guess your trying to be different

The only input I have to this thread is that you will NOT need the Scosche amplifier adapter if you are replacing the radio and speakers at the same time.

Furthermore, you can get a lot for $1100. Especially when you dont get ripped off like you would through Crutchfield. Unless its warranty you are worried about, avoid them.

My intro system for under 1100 would probably be
Pioneer Premier DEH-P660MP, $189@onlinecarstereo (or an Eclipse of course)
CDT CL-61A, $149@thezeb
CDT CL-6X, $69@thezeb
Kicker KX200.4, $119@ebay
Ascandant Audio Atlas 12, $100@Chad at AA
Kicker KX600.1, $239@ebay
Wiring, <$100@knukonceptz

Thats 965 plus shipping, and a damn good setup.
