for the poeple who painted their calipers with RUST O LEUM paint. How long ago did you paint the calipers? Is the Paint Holding Up? Any Problems with the paint?

 

If you're gonna paint them I would go with the high temp paint. I used Rustoleum and it's been 2 years now and they are starting to bubble and peel. I live in FL so the brakes get really really hot.

 

I just masked off the rotors and stuch tiolet tissue in the holes of the calipers to keep the paint from getting on the surface of the pads and rotors. I took GREAT care when spraying. They did come out as good as I would have like to get them but they look better than having the rust showing. When I did get some paint on the rotor surface, I sprayed the brake clean and wiped clean. No problems at all and now the calipers look better.

 

mine were done with rustolium a few weeks back and they are still perfect If they go bad in two year I redo them and spend another $8... I would never pay $60-$80 to paint my calipers

 

Rustoleum only makes the high temp paint in Black. Is their any other high temp paint that makes in different colors?

 

That's true but why have to redo them if the high temp paint should last longer and is about the same price.

 

What Brand HIGH TEMP PAINTS are available RAVQ?

 

I know for sure DupliColor makes a variety of colors and even Krylon. I'm not sure how many other brands there are. Just take a glance at your local auto parts store.

 

I painted my calipers last weekend and they came out fine. But I got my high temp engine paint from Walmart. I bought a can of clear coat and black for 6 bucks. The brand was Duplicolor and I think its rated for like 500 degrees so hopefully that should last for awhile
