First time out there tonight

Any advice for a newbie to the 1/4 mile track? I am taking my 04 SL Max out there to see what she can do. I am hoping to be at 14.5 and around 100 MPH. Is there any tricks as to the RPM's or how not to spin the wheels at take off? It's in Orlando so if anyone is out tonight hit me up and we can meet out there. Thanks in advance.

2004 Maxima SL (CAI) Injen- Full Cat back Greedy SP2 (Y Pipe) comes tonight.

I don't think you're going to hit 100 mph. There was a 04 max with similar mods to yours at the track the other day and he couldn't do better than 14.70@98 mph.

His launch must've blown a.s.s chunks, because that's a pretty high trap for that time.

Nah it was the track/weather. I was .25 slower than the saturday (it was a sunday). E/I doesn't really give much to be honest, it's gonna take real mods to break 100 mph.

Still a high trap ... I've seen Maximas run a second faster with the same trap ...

Got slips? Its weird because I ran 14.39@96 with a 2.0(dunno how that happened) when I was bone stock. Since I have added mods I havent beat a 14.7@95. Im wondering why im not trapping as high as u guys. Maybe just because my traction has been crap the last few times I have been out. All 2.3s and 2.4s. Post more 04 times, im curious.

Thats weird. I have trapped higher in the 1/8th and 1/4 with a better 60' and got crappier times. Whats up with that?

Dunno. I trap the same as both Tilley and Krismax, and I run the same times, but with a much better 60 foot, indicating they are making more power than me. My guess is that with a better 60 foot, you leave the 60 foot at a higher speed, giving you an advantage, but after the 60', all bets are off as to how you handle the rest of the run.

OK guy's don't laugh. I went to the track last night and mind you, this was my first time ever going to a track. It went real quick and I was in my business clothes at that. Shirt and Tie should not be worn at the track!!! I don't have my slips with me but I can tell you this, it sucked big wind. My first time ever on the 1/4 mile was R/T .388 and end result was 15.67 @ 87.32 MPH, my second and final run was R/T .396 and end result 15.89 @ 87.67. I have an automatic and my stereo system has all the dyno in the trunk that weights me down. So how can I at least get in the 14's? Just Practice? It was fun no doubt about it but I know I am not going to beat the 14.2@ 97 MPH another .orger did in here. Thanks again.
