DC to AC power converter?

I haven't ever looked into these, but I may need to. Where can I get one that will be sufficient to run a regular desktop PC and monitor? I know that sounds rediculous but my emanage engine management system won't link up with my laptop for some reason, but it will link up with an old desktop I am using, and for tuning purposes I NEED to get the thing linked up so I can tune this car so I don't blow another motor on it. Or if someone just wants to sell me a cheapo Laptop with WinXP that would be even better lol.

i know radioshack sells some, but not sure on the quality. why not run an extension cord from the house to the car while you tune?
