corrosion warranty question

Just wondering what is covered by the CW. Is it only painted metal or is it everything on the car?

I'm asking because I have an exhaust leak caused from a pipe that was rusted through.

right here:

If it is not covered will I have to buy a whole new muffler?

I had the same flange rust out. you can have it replaced at a muffler shop if you dont want to replace the entire thing. I took it as a good time to get my Cattman Cat-Back.

However, I doubt it is covered, just call Nissan of North America and they will tell you.

keeep in mind that your corrosion warranty is out the window if that panel was repainted or the rust is from rock chips or other damage.

Its under the hood where the front lip is...behind the front headlight, I was in that class action suit against Nissan for the faulty paint, but I think that they got tired of going after Nissan and just quite.

I had an exhaust shop fix this for me too. They say it is the most common exhaust problem on our cars. They cut out the connector and welded on a straight piece of piping for about $20-30. Other shop I went to before this one wanted to replace the muffler and B-pipe cause they claimed it was impossible to fix - I told them where to go...

Yeah, I just looked through the whole warranty pdf on nissan.com and it specifically says the exhaust is not covered.

Its only a 3 year old car, It shouldn't rust through that quickly.

They cut out the connector and welded on a straight piece of piping for about $20-30.
But when my muffler does go, i'll have to take it in to get welded on, rather than doing it myself. Oh well $20-30 is better than $200 for a new muffler.

I have an 01 and encountered the same problem. Budget Exhaust cut out the rusted section and welded in a new piece for 50 CAN. This is the only way to go if you want to stay with your stock muffler and B-Pipe.
