Hi folks,

Well as some of you may recall, some punk took the chrome emblem off my grille this weekend. I called a couple dealers, and the going price for this thing is ~$24. So I called several junk/salvage yards looking for a better price and they all say they don't have a Maxima. So here's my question:

What other models/years have the same "NISSAN" hamburger badge on the front, so I can ask for that instead? Pathfinder, Altima, Sentra, XTerra, anything???

BTW, I tried transplanting the one from my trunk, but it's only about 2/3 the size of the grille emblem.

Thanks for your help,

Justin

maybe you could put a Datsun logo there?
The Nissan Hamburger isn't the most amazing logo ever.

Or you might just thank the scum
for helping you shave your car...

If it just happened this weekend, how could we recall it?

Sorry. Check eBay. I've seen people auction off these kinds of items, especially after upgrading to one of those sorry "gold" versions. Other than that, if you really want one new, call up either SouthPointNissan or Scottsdale Infinity - both of them honor the Maxima.org discount.

Btw, did the thief crack the grille at all or was it a clean sweep of the emblem?

well...

Gary, I was referring to an earlier thread from saturday where I first broke the news of my missing hamburger. Good idea on the post-gold upgrade purchase. BTW it was a clean sweep except for half of the sticky tape.

And fast97, I never intended to shave the front of the car, and I'm pretty sure the Datsun emblem wouldn't fit (don't know for sure though?)

I were just funnin.
It's a shame you don't want to shave it
[I mean becuase this happened, not that you should shave it].

It really sucks when people do that kind of crap.
If they needed one they could have spent their own $24
instead of putting you thrugh the hassle.

I can only hope that it wasn't just some random act of vandalism and that they were unemployed and really, really needed it.
But it still sucks.
