Arg!! What a mess all over my Max!

<rant>
Today I decided I'd make the trip home for lunch, as I normally do. I headed from the office out to the major intersection where I was going to turn South on to 295. As I was waiting to turn a semi without it's trailer turned right, then I turned left just behind him. I noticed this semi had blue smoke puffing out of it's exhaust and was driving really slow. Though, it's burning oil. This ramp was pretty long and I felt as if I were getting lost in the smoke, so I got up closer behind the semi so I could see his lights. Finally the merge to 295 is here - seemed to take forever. I down shift and blow past him and start to looking in my rear view mirror gasping at smoke he was trailing. Now I focus my attentions forward, as most good drivers do and notice my windshield is plastered with black specks of oil - I mean all over. Even worse then love bug season in Fla. I don't even dare to hit the wipers as I know this will just make the oil smear and make it worse for visibility. Anyway I race home to survey the situation. When I get there jump out and notice there is oil every where! The entire car was covered with oil - hood, mirrors, sides of the door, grill, top of the car, and even on the trunk. This semi must have been spewing oil from it's smoke stacks. Sad for me I has just washed and waxed it last night... Seriously, I could not believe how much oil there was on the car. So many thoughts had gone through my head as to what I should have done, but in the end it was just tooooo late and I needed a car wash like something fierce. <sigh> <rant over> sorry... I just wanted to share my sorry afternoon with everyone!

Damn, that'll require a lot bug-n-tar remover. I would say a professional exterior detail for your car is needed. If you do it on your driveway, you'd need to degreased your driveway too.

Thank goodness you just waxed it. That should mean it's going to be eaiser to take it off than if it had gotten on the car just before you waxed it. But either way, it still sux.

if it's just oil then Dawn witll take it off. if it's good enough for oil soaked bird, it will clean your car. Of course it will probably take your wax job off also.

you shouldnt be driving behind big vehicles... they make a mess like you experienced, plus they throw alot of debris which can ship ur paint!!!

someone should build them a lane on their own!!

Ugh,<sigh> well it's all off - lots of sweet and rubbing later. I do think waxing yesterday it helped a lot, plus like suggested dish detergent cut right through it. All the sweet came from putting another coat of wax on in the garage. My neighbors probably think I'm some kink of clean freak...

Flipping trucks! I can't agree more - they should have their own route. I'm sure truck drivers would agree.

I'm not a tree hugger or anything, but burning and spraying oil all over the freaking place can't be good for my Max -- I mean the environment.
