There's a lot of info about this in old threads, but here's the answer in a nutshell:

An RSTB is cheaper and easier to install, but it can be hard to find anything other than the EXPENSIVE Stillen RSTB. I've been searching for an RSTB for a while, and I finally found an eBay seller who had some, but he's out of stock and doesn't know if he'll get anymore. Compared to the rear sway bar, the RSTB won't really make a noticeable difference in handling.

A rear sway bar is more expensive and slightly more difficult to install, but you can do it if you have a good jack, jack stands, and good tools. A rear sway bar is one of the more dramatic suspension upgrades you can make on your Maxima. You will notice much more handling improvement from a rear sway bar than you will from an RSTB.

I dont have a RSTB or FSTB but from what I researched RSB is the way to go. I went RSB and it is a must purchase!

The RSTB only prevents the rear chassis from twisting.

RSB, definitely. RSTB really only comes into play for road racing, where it makes a minimal impact.

Thanx everybody, looks like a RSB is my next mod. Where can I buy one? Also which brand/type is good? Another question is what about Blemhco's lower tie-bar,is it worth it also? Thanx,Charles

Check w/ BEJAY1 for performance differences. Last I know he had bought the three RSBs still available for the 5th gen, the Stealin, ebay Stealin knockoff (is that still available?) and ADDCO. He was going to mount and compare all three in his car, but I have no idea if he ever did.
