just curious as to how much money has everyone put in to there cars. roughly i have spent almost 7 grand on this car. minus labor and taxes and stuff. but i do most of the labor myself so that would'nt really add anything. what about ya'll

I'd have to estimate at least 7 grand. I'm expecting to drop another 5 or so into it at one point.

I only intended to get some tint, fstb, and rsb for around $500. I didn't intend enough, cause I'm on my way to trippled that and then some, I blame you guys on the org. Yeah, that's it!

Believe it or not I'm only about $3500

just tint, grille, rear sway bar, less than a grand.

I've spent about 5 grands on my previous car, and it wasn't worth it.
I learned riding stock is best for me with the previous car.

YET, I really want subwoofers and a intake.
intake - I really like the sound that intake makes, $200 just for the sound...
i'm still debating...i don't expect performance gain with the intake
subwoofers - I want better bass as i was disappointed with stock subwoofers.
if i get one, i know i'm not getting a cheap one and i know it will loosen all
the bolts and nuts in the trunk and doors. still debating on subs also...

I spend thousands on a system for my old car...not going that route with this one...spend $250 for the grille cuz the other one fell apart. Spent $400 (because of a fantastic discount) on tires because the originals also fell apart. I dont really like the kits that are out or the exhausts. Soooo I might put a grand in on wheels and thats it.

I assume ur talking about mods and not maintenance. I would say, not including my time, which does have some value, hehe, my parts and labor paid cost about $4000, most of it being tires, rims and the body kit. The rest is nickel and dime stuff, i.e. tail light tint, headlight blackout paint, brake paints, etc.

I'm pushing $1,800...Grill, Sirius, Tint, 20's. Lucky for me my son get's me deals (wheels, grill, springs/struts). Like most of us I do the installs to save some $$.
I'm about done with anymore major investments. I'll just wash it, drive it and enjoy it.

no mods

additional coin:

Mods = $0 (chrome rims would be nice, but (for me) too much buck for the bang)
repairs=$450 (rear bumper in body shop)
cleaning stuff=$100 (simple green, wax, chamois cloths, microfiber cloths, various brushes, armor all leather treatment, armor all vinyl treatment, etc.)

I think a better question is "How much money have you sunk/wasted/lost in your car", being an investment is something you can get a return on.

I don't have a Maxima...yet.. but I have sunk/wasted/lost ~8K on my current ride..

I have also sunk about 8K+ in my ride and so far with the performance and improvements it has been money well spent. You are correct about the investment part, however looking around my house and seeing all the stuff I have, a lot of things we buy and do, fall into the same category. I work hard to spend and play hard. We only get one chance at life, no matter what we do; NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE…

Too many people work their whole youth to make money, and then when they're old, spend all their money to regain their youth. I'm sure everyone who was killed in the World Trade Center disaster had a plan that went to $hit after the planes hit… Mod away orgers…

$7000 on performance. This is not including labor since my shop or myself does all the work.

$500 (if that) on looks.
