Squeaking Noise when I Start the Car near timing belt area...please help

Lately, sometimes when I start my car after a couple of days not driving it, the left side(facing car) of the car makes a loud squeaking noise. It still makes noise while driving it. Other times it goes away.

Could it be the timing belt?

Thanks in Advance.

There isn't a timing belt, there is a chain. A slipping chain won't make a squeaking sound, trust me

It sounds like your serpentine belt is getting old. You could try to adjust your tensioner to reduce the noise temporarly.

drive belts. My main accessory drive belt would do that too, especially in the rain. Swap it out and you should be good to go.

If you can't change it right away try belt dressing which could help eliminate the sqeeling temporarily.

Hey I have the same problem with the squeaking every morning, but then it goes away. In the afternoon after a drive, I'll open the hood and listen and won't hear anything. I'm looking basically in the front left of the engine and can see some sort of belt. Is that the drive belt or serpentine belt that needs to be replaced? Ballpark, how much am I looking at paying? Thanks.

Belts are cheap 20 or 30 bucks at your local auto parts store. If your a tight wad use WD40 on your belts to eliminate squeek till you can get them changed out.
