Someone will get ripped off...

Looks like this car might have been crashed and someone took the cheap way out and replaced the grille, headlamps and bumper cover with a 00/01 instead of 03's. The car also has GXE wheels and you can tell from the cluster & rear spoiler it's a SE. The bumper cover may be GXE as those foglamps appear to be add on's.

03 Maxima on craigslist

Those are GLE wheels, GXE only have steels. You mess up here. I love the 5 spokes.

Umm, people HAVE converted to 2k1 bumper and light after their lights have been stolen. As a matter of fact, this person who lives a couple of blocks from me recently converted to the 2001 bumper and lights.

Just request a VIN...this will reflect exactly what year it is. Then maybe, we can post our comments on any conversions.

HID theft with the Maxima's doesn't seem to be much of a problem here in California. I guess the car could also be from somewhere where the HID's were jacked one too many times and owner just said F*** it and did the swap. In one of the pics you can see another white Maxima in the background along side a fence. I am pretty sure that Maxima is a salvage title car that the seller has also been trying to sell on CL for months and months.

You can also.......

You can also tell it is a 3.5 by the gated auto shifter. The shifter was not gated until 2002.

Carfax sucks ***. Doesnt tell you crap. I ran the VIN on my camry that I'm about to sell. The car has been in 2 accidents both over 3500$ in damage both of which I repoted to my insurance company and my car compes up as perfectly clean on carfax. It was pretty shocking to me... so now I dont trust carfax AT ALL.

Carfax sucks!
They have no way to reveal any accidents that pre-owners want hidding.

The 5-spoke alloy wheels were GLE wheels but optional for GXE. They were standard on GLE.

Not a big deal

If on the surface it's just a parts swap for whatever reason it's no big deal. I don't see it a "ripoff." If, on the other hand, it's Frankensteined because it's been smacked up yeah, maybe a problem.

OTOH - If its record is OK, looks like a flipper! 11k = 15k on resale.

Low price is disconcerting, though.

For 02-03, the GXE came with those 5 spoke rims. The GLE came with 7 spoke rims.
