Anyone put a 3.5 in a 2k maxima? The 3.5 uses E-gas, so could you use the TB from the 3.0? Use the 3.0's wiring harness and ECU?? Does the 5speed mate up with the 3.5?

 

I'm also interested in this as i ave a friend in the Marines thats stationed in Japan right now and can get these motors at an awesome cost and ship to me for free.

 

There's ooodles and ooodles of these engines in junkyards. What kinda cost can you get them for?

 

i dont think it would be worth it. for all the money you would spend on the engine and install you could just get an 02/03. plus you would get the 6 speed tranny

 

I don't think it would cost all that much. I have a 2k GXE with 95,000 miles and it's worth $8,000-8,500. I could put in a 3.5 for about $1000, and sell the engine I have for $250-$500. I figure a I could get a 02 w/ similar mileage for around 10,500.

I'm more tempted to get a 4th gen and dump a 3.5 in it. There's a 97 that I can get for $3500. By the time everything's said and done, I could have a 4.5 gen for around $5000. Put the 6spd in it for another 1,000 and have a 4.75gen.

 

maxs here on the org has done this swap. basically all he has left from the 2k max is just the body. everything else is 2k2.

 

i'm close to it, besides the motor, tranny, wheels, cluster, grille, bumper, fog lights,... aha i wish i had a 5.5

 

Waste of $$$, just turbo or SC it.
