Vehicle speed sensor wiring problem, where should I look first??

So I've had the code 0104 (Vehicle speed sensor) for a while now, with the symptom of cruise control working only intermittenty. I replaced the vehicle speed sensor but the code didn't go away.

Last time my max was in the shop, I asked about it, and he said he'd check the vehicle speed sensor I replaced. It was working fine, so he said that something in the wiring went wrong because it was only working less than half the time.

Now I'd like to know what a good first place to look in the wiring would be, I've already got my cluster out and I'm just tightening a few things, but anyone have ideas on what I should do next?

Maybe the wiring is loose at the sensor end of the harness (i.e. at the sensor connector).
