Frankencar catback

I have heard that the frankencar catback system is kinda crappy, it doesn't show any gains, and it is basically a louder version of the stock muffler.

Anybody with cattman exhaust care to share any info?

I am leaning towards Greddy, because they are a reputable company and they usually have good products, I like frankencar's price though.

I purchased a Frankencar catback about a month ago and I am happy with the looks, sound, and overall the system as a whole.
I would recomend adding a high flow intake and either headers or a y-pipe to fully free up the exhaust and really see some gains in horspower.
Further more, Greddy is way too expensive and too lound, it will only make your car sound riced out. I'd say go with frankencar if you want to spend less money and see the same results without the riced out sound.

I totally agree. Should add at least a y-pipe to the Frankencar; it gives it a nice low rumble and a few ponies.

who the heck told you that? all the exhaust systems available for our cars give similar gains. the frankencar is an extremely high quality unit for a great price.

Frankencar = great quality, beutiful looks, nice mellow sound. No catbacks are going to give you any significant power gains - because our stock muffler is very free-flowing......

Wrong. Greddy can be purchased for around $450. Cattman is way up there. My Greddy SP did not sound riced out. It had nice deep tone to it. Any aftermarket exhaust will make your car louder.

not sure if it was w/ or w/out shipping. I did a google search a while back and found that price.

where in hell did you get this information? was he on crack?
anyways, like everyone else said. any exhuast will show small or no gains no matter what type of exhaust it is. greddy IS the louder version of the stock muffler, and franken car is the classier version of the stock muffler.

cattman isnt sellign the headers yet , as far as i know. Only cattman sells his products, they are excellent quality, as soon as the headers come out and are ready to sell(the new improved headers) i think he will post here, but for now theres nothign, you can get the catback, ypipe and fastcat, but if u want headers dont waste money on buying a y pipe cuz hte headers come wiht one.

BTW the FC catback is a GREAT muffler , its quiet and no catback will give u a noticable gain! have fun with the fartcan man, please dont come here and bash on one of the nicest catback for our cars.

Frankcar Catback Quality is Really Outstanding

I've had my Frankencar Catback for nearly one year and I really don't have any regrets. If you look at the hanger design on the Frankencar versus others, it is more stock looking. I really like the tips on the Cattman, which are longer and wider to be a more of aggressive look. The internal of the OEM muffler is valved in my AE whereas the Frankencar and Cattman are a flow through design.... Just my $0.3...

Y-pipe and Frankencar

I'd go with a proven Y-pipe with a reliable Flex-pipe design. I just installed a Y-pipe that initially sounded really good, then it started the "bees in a can" or "ricey" sound. After a couple of hundred miles, my car sounds really bad. Hopefully, the retailer will handle the problem in an appropriate manner and provide the expected customer service. I urge you to do a Google Search on "bees in the can noise" related to the Maxima and you'll see the details.

IMO, HKS is the riciest sounding exhaust there is. Aside from SPOON for honda products.
