Torque member removal

I have been trying for the last hour to get the 2 x 17mm bots loose from the torque member. I am trying the front brake disassembly from motovate.ca

The first problem i am havin is that, its 19mm and not 17mm. If this sounds ok to you guys, how do you get the damn thing loose. i have jumped on the damn spanner and if i keep going, i may shear off the bolt head.

Do ya'll have any suggestions for removing the 2 bolts and if 19mm is right?

1. 17mm rings more of a bell with me than 19mm, but as long as you are sure you are trying to undo the right bolts, it doesn't matter.

2. Get some extra leverage (put a piece of pipe over the breaker bar). Make sure you soak those two bolts with some PB blaster or liquid wrench as opposed to WD40.

3. Go eat a bowl of wheaties and try again

you might have to heat it up. Unless you have an air tool. I sat there for about 2 min loosening a bolt with a 400 lb air gun.....i used my breaker bar before that n it just didn't budge one bit...i thought i was going to break the damn bar itself..

where are you at in Blacksburg? Yes the bolts that hold the "torque member" on are 19mm.

i will give this another 20 minutes .... if it doesn't budge, i will just go with servicing the pads and spraying some brake cleaner all over

if you aren't changing the rotor then there is no need to remove the bracket. let me know if you need some tools/assistance.

thanks... i will try those the next time. i need a week off from pulling on the thing.

I wasn't replacing the rotors, so i took skinnys suggestion and left it.

My right brake was dusting like crazy. i have brembos + Axxis mm.. which suck. sounds like a semi sometimes, the noise. brake dust is horrible. Well the right front was dusting more than the others, so that torque member came off and hopefully everything is set right.
