Any one have one with a y-pipe? I just recieved my new apexi w/s muffler and i noticed that it is a straight through style muffler. So why is this one quieter than the rest of them? I haven't got it installed yet so i don't know what it sounds like but hope it is resonably quiet. I have a resonated (magnaflow) stillen b-pipe, and budget y pipe and new cat conv.

Ok i just spent 185.00 shipped for the w/s muffler and another 100.00 at the muffler shop to have it installed as a bolt on axle back in case i did not like it i could sell it. Well i drove home from the muffler shop (like 12 miles) And hated every mile. This thing is so loud, i thought they were pretty quiet? I should have known better it is a straight through. I tested it on my db meter when i got home and was hitting 119.5 dbs. That is the same as every other muffler i have had. ie; stillen muffler,dynomax super turbo, flowmaster 40. Now im out 285.00 just because i listened to people on here. Anyone want a bolt on axle-back????

 

sounds like u need to stick with a stock muffler

 

yeah i went back to my bosal oe replacement muffler. It has growl and hum and it's alot quieter than aftermarket muffs.

 

Where did yopu get the exhaust from? I'[m wondering because a lot of people end u8p buying stuff from e-cay and never really read everything. There are plenty of mufflers saying Apexi WS 'style', Greddy 'style' and so forth. People don't pay attention to the 'style' part....

 

Apparently you missed my threads about getting ticked TWICE for "loud muffler" with my apex and warpspeed ypipe...

p.s.. i saw apexi have 2 kinds... one straight like the one you and I have.. another one that looks like stock muffler with bigger tip which is the quietest one.

Yes it is the real thing it was in a apexi sealed box, for 150.00 it should be real. You just have to read what they put on there. And look at the pic. They just put the style on there to attract more people from the search, but alot of the stuff is knock offs but you get what you pay for.

 

hey im happy with my stock system and a y pipe from warpspeed.. it think it sounds great... although i would like to amplify that sound to be a little louder maybe like a gran prix
