I have started getting clicking sound from the front right tire. The sound goes away when I put my foot on break pedal. Does anyone know whats going on? Last time when I checked the breaks (2months ago) the mechanic said they are in pretty good shape.
Could you give me hints as to what might be wrong and is this serious? BTW the clicking frequency increases with speed and its very annoying.
Thanks ya all

Sounds like you've warped a rotor. Does the brake pedal "pulse" when you brake hard?

Yes....so does that mean i need new rotor or may be rotor job????? And do i need that on one tire or do you have to do that on all four??
I though the pulse means ABS???
Thanks

I guess it could be ABS (I don't have it!). ABS should only pulse when you almost slam the brakes. If you feel a pulsing during normal braking, that's your rotor.

You should at least replace them in pairs (both the fronts or both the rears), if not the entire set. You could get them machined if they haven't been already.

Check out the stickey post for brake part numbers. I just ordered new rotors. $45 a piece.

Thanks for your help. I took my car to workshop this afternoon and the mechanic said that the rare brakes are gone. He said that brake pad make clicking sound when they are close to a point where they start damaging the rotor and that is done intentionally to alarm you that they need to be replaced.....i was amazed to hear that. Anyway rotors were fine. Replaced rare brakes and everything is smooth now.
thanks again!
