Update with the Aftermarket Fogs??

This is an old issue that I think is still unresolved.

For the newer guys, basically a few of us bought the PIAA Superplasma GT (something like that) fog lights and installed them.....

Within about a month or so I noticed one of them went out (left side for me). After awhile more and more members noticed the same thing.

Did anyone try to put in aftermarket fogs after this?? Did anyone get their PIAA's to not burn out??

alot of people have the plasmas burn out... I dunno why, but I've seen a whole thread on members saying how bad they suck, and how they burn out in less than 6 months..

I don't think I've ever switched my "fog" lamps on. What am I missing?

well for me, i get a lot of fog and some rain. HID is useless. the oem helped a little. yellow improves my visibility a lot.

Still not sure what PIAA means by:
H3 SUPER PLASMA GT-X Wattage 55w = 110 Xtra, 5000K vs. H3 ION CRYSTAL Wattage 55w = 85w
maybe the =110W is too much or not compatible with our 55W wiring. I know they are 55W, but the whole =110 makes me wonder. Where the Yellows only =85W and haven't prematurely gone out like the GT-X.

I bought very inexpensive Nokya yellow H3 fogs on ebay and they look awesome and have not burned out...the overall concensus on Piaa is OVERPRICED

And Yes, My Super Plasma ($60 pair) the passenger side burned out in a month.

Has anyone tried wiring the switch to make the lights on the bottom turn on when the lights are on instead of only when you use the turn signal? I think it would look good to have them on at night.

I think his name was ToTee something. I think the consensus here was that it would look stupid having lights on that dont point straight.

Plus I think it was a real pain in the a$$ job for him to do.

So did anyone try th 55w=85w Super Plasmas with success??

this is the most stupidest thing to do... they are not fog lights, so don't try and make them fogs..

Mine blew out last night. Oh the irony PIAA needs to be sued. They were in for a month.

The good thing about PIAA is that they warranty their bulbs for one year. I know it's still BS but at least you have recourse...
